Well, hello there fluffy crochet gloves!
I have been wanting to try those furry yarns for a long time now, but it’s not always easy to find good yarn, here in Greece. While conducting a different research I accidentally found this Yarn and Colors Furry in a greek store and ordered it immediately.
I had a very specific project in mind and it was a pair of crochet gloves for my daughter. I combined this fluffy yarn with a worsted I always have on hand, and I think it’s a perfect match.
Pin now, make later…:-)

If you, too, haven’t ever tried those fur-like yarns, let me share some facts that you might not have considered.
* They are lovely and soft (usually), but there’s no way to actually see your stitches.
* Forget counting at the end of your row. Any counting must occur in real time while you are making every row.
* The only way to know where to place your next stitch is to feel for the next stitch. Or if you are more advanced, you will pretty much know where to place your next stitch if you relax and just crochet. But still, keep counting every round at the moment you are making it.
* The same goes for rows/rounds. You will have some understanding of how many rows you ‘ve completed but not exactly. It’s better to keep notes.
* You can forget about the traditional way you measured your gauge by now. That doesn’t mean that you won’t have to do any, but it’ll be a bit different. I am giving you instructions below.

There are 3 sizes for this pattern: 2y-4y, 4y-6y, 6-8y of age. Take a look at the table below for the hand measurements they relate to.
Age | 2y-4y | 4y-6y | 6y-8y |
Hand circumference | 13 cm (5″) | 15 cm (6″) | 16.5 cm (6.5″) |
Hand length | 10 cm (4″) | 12 cm (4.75″) | 13.5 cm (5.25″) |
Well, what are you waiting for? Let’s make your child a pair of crochet gloves!

You are going to need:
Yarn A: Yarn and colors Furry (or any worsted weight fur-like yarn)
Yarn B: Drops Nepal (or any worsted weight yarn)
Crochet hook: US H/5.0 mm, US J/6.0 mm
Scissors

Abbreviations:
R: round
MR: magic ring
sc: single crochet
sl st: slip stitch
inc: increase
st(s): stitch(es)
ch(s): chain(s)
sk: skip
yo-sl st: yarn over slip stitch
Special stitches: yo-sl st
If you don’t know how to make a yo-sl st you can find a photo tutorial, here. The one you need is number 6.
Because of the nature of the yarn, measuring your gauge will be difficult with the traditional method. What you are going to do is follow the instructions below. When you finish all 4 rows, measure your flat circle. It should be about 7.5 cm (3”).

Gauge swatch:
R1: MR, 6 sc, sl st to join, ch 1 (6)
R2: sc inc in each st around, sl st, ch 1 (12)
R3: * sc, sc inc * repeat from * to * around, sl st, ch 1 (18)
R4: * sc 2, sc inc * repeat from * to * around, sl st, ch 1 (24)
At this point your flat circle must measure around 7.5 cm (3”)
