Keep your place tidy with the Maja crochet basket. A large basket with a Scandinavian aesthetic that will store your things in style!
I think that one of the things I will never get bored of making is crochet baskets. I already have 3 separate designs and one more that I am debating publishing. This crochet pattern, though, is a collaboration with Lion Brand yarns and you can find the free version of it over at Make and Do Crew.

This one is definitely the largest basket I have made so far. It stands tall at approximately 13.5×13.5 inches (34×34 cm) at it’s highest point. And I am saying at it’s highest point because it also has a lower level.
I am a bit indecisive as a person and there are many times when I am designing something that I get hung up on the details. Usually, there is more than one version on my mind and more often I will like at least 2 of the options.
So, for me being so hard to decide, you get two size options in one pattern! With just a small change you get two different looks. The first option is a taller basket with a kind of herringbone design near the top. The second option is a shorter version with a rolled down top.
The best thing is you don’t have to change anything in the pattern besides the way you crochet the different parts of it!
It is a fairly easy pattern. Using basic crochet stitches that every beginner knows but it is going to challenge you in another level. You will be asked to use two sizes of crochet hooks for this pattern. And, of course, totally different tension for each of them. So, what do you say? Are you up for the challenge?
The Maja crochet basket will look great in your living room, holding your current crochet project or your lap blanket but also it will fit right in a modern nursery room. As you know babies love the high contrast that black and white can provide.
