Who am I to tell you all this?
My name is Lou and I have sold crochet products and patterns since 2014, and started my blog on 2017. I have created almost 100 pdf patterns for knitting and crochet and my work has been featured on magazines and the first issue of Make, by Our Maker Life.
I fell in love with crochet the first time I held a crochet hook in my hand. Very little time passed when I knew I wanted to do this for life. Even though I had a job that I loved at the moment, I knew I needed to make more money (since it was a part time job) and I knew I didn’t want to trade my valuable time for pennies in a big company. I have done this when I was younger and I am not willing to do it any more.
The story behind it
As the finance situation kept changing and salaries decreasing I became even more confident in my decision. So, I decided to take the leap and open my Etsy shop. A few years later I started my blog and you know what I see looking back?
That I should have started sooner! Although, I knew I wanted to do this, I was afraid. I was afraid of investing in myself. But know that I know that something like this is possible I wanna scream it from the rooftops.
The work behind the business
Don’t let fear hold you back. If you know owning a crochet business is something you would like to do, start today.
And believe me, I know it’s hard, I‘ve been there. I was the one doing all the thing by myself. With tons and tons of research, and lot’s of reading on every piece of random info I could find out there.
There are so many things to know and hats to wear as a small business owner that you get lost. I managed to burn myself out and almost wanted to quit, but there’s actually an easier way. Yes, it’s a bit of investment, but in the end you have to ask yourself: Am I serious about my decision? Do I really want to do this?
How to make money with crochet
If yes, let me tell you about the Crochetpreneur Business Academy (CBA) and how much I wish this course existed when I was starting out.
The Crochetpreneur Business Academy is a step by step roadmap for creating a profitable crochet business uniquely suited to you, your needs, and your dreams.
Let me tell you why this is perfect for you that you are still don’t have a registered business, you are making for a hobby or just as a side hustle with some sales here and there BUT you want this to be your actual income stream and make money crocheting for yourself and your family.
This course is perfect for you if:
1. You know how to crochet or knit, and you know you want to make money from your craft.
– You have no idea which steps to take to begin with.
– You may have sold one or two things to friends and family and you are wondering how you can reach a wider audience besides your family.
– You get overwhelmed even thinking about all the legal stuff and actions you must take to comply with the law.
– All the tech involved scares the hell out of you.
2. People that already have a crochet small business that want to take it one step forward and learn more advanced things.
– You have been selling some items here and there but you don’t know what to do to scale your business.
– You have no idea how to connect with others in your field and help each other out.
– You know you can do better and earn more money with crochet but you don’t know how to talk to yarn brands or implement ads on your site for a bust of income.
Is crocheting a profitable business?
How are these two combined, I hear you say? Well, Pam has a unique way. This is going to be perfect for you if you haven’t started anything yet, because Pam takes you by the hand and you will create the business of your dreams from scratch!
Yes, literally by the hand. The course structure is outlined this way that you start from absolute zero and slowly and steadily leads you to 100! The modules and lessons are written in the way that it’s best to do them in this exact order to keep moving forward.
This is the exact thing that I would have wanted to use when I was starting out. It explains absolutely everything from choosing you ideal customer, to creating your product line (digital or not), to opening up your Etsy shop, your own website, how to use social media, how to create an online and offline presence, email list, everything, absolutely everything!
This is the thing you need to give you all the answers, and more importantly, all the steps in the exact order you have to take to set up yourself and your business on the right track to earn a living.
But, can you really make money with crochet?
Yes, in the exact order. If you are in the US, Pam even gives all the information about how to make your business legal and the places you have to be registered in order to comply with all the rules. I wish I had someone to tell me all these things about my country. It’s a mess here!
It might seems like a big investment to make, but if you are really serious and determined that this is what you want to do with your life, and believe me, it’s possible. Myself and tons of other CBA students can testify for that.
So yes, you can make actual money with crochet but only if you put in the work. It’s a great way to work from home and also take care of your little ones while also bring a good amount of income back.
If you want to take a small idea of what’s to come and what Pam teaches inside CBA you can take a few minutes and watch this webinar she hosts and see if what she has to say interests you at all.
Is the Crochetpreneur Business Academy suitable for beginners only?
On the other hand, I was nowhere near a total newbie when I joined CBA. I had a blog for 4.5 years and my online shops for about 7 years. And as I said before, I read A LOT! And have taken other courses before. Not specifically about crochet, but for all the other things a small business owner must know.
My hesitation was exactly that. That I wasn’t a newbie and maybe all the info inside was going to be obsolete to me as I would already know everything. Boy, I was wrong!
The first modules with all the info about finding your target customer was very useful to me as I still struggle myself finding the right balance between what I want and what my customers actually want.
Ok, I skipped the lessons where you open your Etsy shop and blog, etc, but not entirely. I read everything, remember? I was still able to find things to tweak, or improve, or things I have completely left out in the process of “I will do that later”.
Scaling your crochet business
And now I am learning more advanced stuff about scaling my business, diversifying my income, and automating any process I can to save myself some time. Difficult words, huh? It’s awesome! I love what I have learned so far and I can’t wait for what the future will bring for me and my business.
If you would like to have all that for yourself, CBA doors may not be open right now, but you can join the waitlist and be notified when they do. Believe me, you don’t want to leave this to chance and forget. You want to know when the doors will open again and a new class of students will come in.
– Is this course going to teach me how to crochet?
No, absolutely not. This course is about how to create a business and turn yarn into money, as Pam says. You have to know at least the basics of crochet to take this course.
– Is CBA good for beginners? I have only sold my creations to friends and family.
Yes, it’s perfect! Even better if you still don’t have a registered business, you are making for a hobby or just as a side hustle with some sales here and there BUT you want this to be your actual income stream and make money with crochet for yourself and your family. You will end up with the business of your dreams from scratch in no time!
– What if I am not a beginner? Will I learn anything new?
I wasn’t a beginner when I joined the Crochetpreneur Business Academy and you can take my word that I was amazed with how many things I didn’t know, when I started this course. If you are not a blogger that already makes thousands and thousands every month, then I can assure you, there will be lots of new things to learn.
– I don’t make nearly any money at the moment and I am afraid that I will never get them back.
I totally get that. It felt like a big investment for me, too. But you know what? It is an investment. An investment to you and your future. And while there are no guarantee that you will earn these money back, I believe that if you put the work you will be taking your money back soon, while crocheting what you love.
I know that every person is different and I don’t know you or what you are selling, but I know what Pam teaches works. And if you take the steps one at a time you will see results. The results will be different for everyone but that’s fine, as long as you are taking steps forward.
Did you just skipped to the end of this awesome blog post that took me hours to write? It’s ok! I don’t mind. Click the buttons below and to watch the webinar or join the waitlist for the Crochetpreneur Business Academy and find out for yourself what I am talking about.
